JUNIOR PROGRAM

THE JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER PROGRAM WAS CREATED IN 1998 FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECRUITING FUTURE FIREFIGHTERS, AS WELL AS GIVING THE YOUTH OF THE COMMUNITY A PLACE TO LEARN NEW SKILLS.  THE MEMBERS OF THE JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER PROGRAM HAVE HELPED OUT THE TRI-COUNTY FIRE COMPANY IN VARIOUS WAYS.  SEVERAL CURRENT FIREFIGHTERS TODAY HAVE GOT THEIR START AS A JUNIOR MEMBER.  ASIDE FROM LEARNING THE SKILLS REQUIRED TO BECOME A FIREFIGHTER, JUNIOR MEMBERS ALSO PARTICIPATE IN VARIOUS OTHER ACTIVITIES AND FUNCTIONS.  THEY PARTICIPATE IN PARADES, FIRE PREVENTION DETAILS, PUBLIC RELATIONS, AND DRILLS.  JUNIOR MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED TO RIDE ALONG ON CALLS, BUT MUST BE UNDER SUPERVISION OF A SENIOR FIREFIGHTER AT ALL TIMES.
